My creative practice begins in nature, in meditation, and through the act of creating. Living on Waiheke Island, New Zealand, I’m deeply influenced by its rugged coastline, and native bush. I’m interested in the ephemeral, imperfect, and cyclical qualities of nature, and in honouring these through material and form. I love the tactility and deep connection to nature that I have through making works with my hands, in many mediums such as clay and glass. I embrace imperfections, fingerprints, texture - a conversation between my body and earth body material. Influenced by ecofeminist philosophies, my practice challenges dominant narratives of progress by honouring the imperfect, the transient, and the tactile.
